She's Gone and Become a Teenager

IMG_3387

I remember the day this little darling was born.  We were sitting at our town's summer parade greedily collecting candy while Mom sat on a bench and timed contractions.  Early the next morning, before the sun was up, little Beth Louise was born.

Quite a miracle actually.  The cord having been around her neck several times and her face was all blue when she came out.  We prayed and I believe God breathed into her tiny lungs.  And the first day of every summer {June 21} we celebrate the life that Bethie brings to our family.

Today we celebrated by surprising her with a girls' day out.  Complete with a park picnic, a trip to the swimming pool and dollar cones from McDonalds.  {These things must be done right, you know!}

The entire time at the well worn picnic table was spent stuffing our mouthes {as you can tell from every photo taken}  I figured that some carrots sticks would negate my favorite fudge covered granola bars.  Yes?!  {no}

Sadly the camera stayed packed in my black and white bag while we were swimming.  But my pink skin proves we were there.

{I love you Bethie-Lou}
