{Why I Blog} Guest Posting

Hey Lovelies!  Here's part two of my blogging series. . . remember the one I scribbled on paper in the Beijing airport?!
Cheers to this awesomeness called blogging.

{would you believe that the giveaway goes up tomorrow?!  yeah.  totes understand if you don't.  but for serious.  it does.}

In once heard someone say that if you help others achieve their goals in life, you will reach yours as well.

This is a principle I have chosen to apply to blogging.  Our Lookbook is primarily about our adventures in marriage, life and ministry, so I want to stay true to that.  I also have a hope that this will be a place of beauty, inspiration and growth for myself and all you lovelies who follow along.

Hosting guest posts on our little bloggity is one way I have chosen to reach this goal.  As I've met so many lovely bloggers the last several months, I've realized how much they have to offer.  Whether it is through stories of international travel, gems of marriage advice or a simple hair tutorial, there is always something to learn.

Guest posting is also a way I can bless other bloggers with a chance to grow and expand their own circles of readers.  I look at it as my little gift to some amazing lovelies out there!

Maybe you've never hosted a guest blogger in your little corner.  I would encourage you to reach out and ask one of your favorite bloggy friends to share with you and your readers.  They may even be kind enough to link back to your site on the day of the post.
I promise you will find blessings to give and receive!

xoxo

  3. I haven't had any guest bloggers yet. Of course, I'm too afraid to ask because my blog is still so teeny... Do you suggest I still give it a try??

  4. For those of us in the Remedial Blogging class, how do you go about inviting a guest blogger? Do you have to give them your password? Or do they compose on their site and export to yours...?

  5. Em! YES!!! Please still ask. I started asked some big name bloggers to guest post when my blog was just a teeny little dream of a thing. Some said yes, then forgot, other never responded, but there were a few who said YES! Ask away, then take whatever comes.

    M, what I did was grab their email addresses from the bloggers I wanted to request a guest post from. Then I emailed them my request. They would send me the post in an email, either in HTML format {the best!} or just with photo links/attachment. Then I would post it on my own blog. No privacy violations! :)

    Please feel free to email me with more questions, lovelies!!

  7. Guest posts are something that are very new to my blog. In fact, the first will be happening this Thursday! I'm curious now if you'd be interested in posting for the series I've started called "Thanks for Sharing" that is all about passions. I'm asking guests to write a post about anything that they're passionate about (from shopping to underwater basket weaving, etc.).

    You can check out my blog at http://littlespindle-dani.blogspot.com

    Have fun in China! I love reading your inspirational posts and hearing about you and the hubs adventures :)
