I have been excited for today for a long time.
It was finally the day I could host my very own Christmas Cookie Exchange.
All my awesome girls would come over. . . and bring their husbands to help eat the cookies
The fancy dishes would come out of hiding
We would all sip egg nog and discuss grown up matters
The air would drip with wonderful holiday cheer
Do you know how hard it is to have a cookie exchange when know one can come?!
This is when you throw a cooler party and decorate cookies with the one couple who can attend.
Our Sunday became srsly crazytown though. . .
after cutting down our tree {EeeEPppE!!}
attending house church/small group in the afternooon
hustling our buns out to the fam's to wish Dad a happy buurthday
dealing with our car problems on the drive home
then rushing to start Cheesy Broccoli Soup and Sugar Cookie Dough before the awesome friends arrived.
{yo, doing those last two things in 20 minutes is pretty impressive, if I do sayso meself}

This boy was pretty dang awesome when it came to the cutting out of trees and snowmen.
But he mostly liked rolling out the dough . . . evident by the constant re-rolling if it wasn't 'perfect'
And does he look excited about cookies or does he look excited?!
The night was bascially
cookiescookiescookies
laughter
egg nog
stories
soup and bread
cider
trying to decipher what character is created when the snowman bakes into the stocking
and then making this massive dent in our table of cookies
I am continually learning that in life, sometimes things go best when they don't go as planned.
Buuu-tah
I will be sending out invites to next year's party in, let's say . . . early February.
So get it on your calendar, yo!
And bring your empty belly for stuffing!
What a cute idea for a party!
