730 Days Ago

While Hubs and I were driving to work this morning at the butt crack of dawn
I got all sappy when I realized that two years ago tonight
our relationship began.

So if you're in a sappy mood
grab your cocoa and cookies
sit back
and enjoy this photo tribute to
our first two years together.
xoxo
. . .

{note: our relationship was long distance until two months before our wedding}

{First visit to Iowa in February.  First time seeing each since dating.}

{First visit to California since dating.}

{Walks along the ocean}

{First plane ride with the sexy pilot boy}

{Mission trip to Mexico. This is when he had to go to the mexican hospital for a massive bite between the eyes.  Poor avitar-looking-boy.}

{First visit to Disneyland.  First time to see him scared from Small World}

{First time back to China as a couple. . . where we met three years before}

{First time to see the first spot Adam visited in China.  We jumped in the river and swam in our clothes.  Chinese people thought we had gone crazy.}

{Short visits to LA while I was flying around the country speaking for Bring Me Hope}

{This stop was between my trip from Canada to Australia.  Some months we would only see each other for a day.}

{First holiday together.  Thanksgiving in Iowa.  Tree cutting with the fam}

{First and last diamond ring for my whole entire life}

{First ski trip to Mammoth just after getting engaged}

{First trip to the stores to scope out what we wanted to register for}

{First and last boy I will ever kiss}

{First time to the clear waters of the Bahamas}

{First house we bought together}

{First time back to California as Mr and Mrs}

{First time to introduce Hubs to the grand Iowa State Fair}

{First Christmas together}

. . .

After those nights of crying in my pillow.
Crying in the shower so no one would hear.
Crying to God and asking if love would ever come.

It did.
And it was worth every second I had to wait.

So to each and every brave soul who still waits.
Don't forget that sometimes we have to let go of our best
in order that we may watch something greater
unfold before our eyes.

. . .

“God never witholds from His child that which His love and wisdom call good. God's refusals are always merciful -- "severe mercies" at times but mercies all the same. God never denies us our hearts desire except to give us something better.”

  9. It's so beautiful seeing your relationship grow through these photos. Patrick and I did it long distance too, before AND after we got married. We got married in Hong Kong and the day after he flew to New Zealand and I flew to Australia. We didn't see each other until a trip to Samoa, we met in Auckland airport, after 6 months! I was tough but worth it. I love your outlook on marriage and life <3
