Do you remember the good old days. . .
Before internet
and texting
and facebook
and skype
and . . . an . . .
Everyday when it got close to the time for the mail to come
I would keep an eye out for mailman
always watching, hoping, waiting
for envelopes or packages with my name on it.
Those were the good old days.
I am loving my words for this year.
Encourage.
Dreams.
It's been fun finding ways to practice this.
Letters created from white cards and little colored paper pieces
Packages sent to friends.
Little messages on facebook to brighten a friend's day.
Words to build up people around me.
Oh and yes.
I also have discovered how fun it is to sew on
brown paper
with pink thread.
You will find all the brown paper
in our house sewed into a heap.
Can I come find to your house and use yours?!
i actually do remember. (:

I sincerely miss hand written letters. I think it's becoming a lost art in today's tech age.. thanks for inspiring me to drop a note in the mail. I think I will pen one for my bestie right now!
ReplyDeleteI love this. I do miss hand written letters. I'm afraid those days are over :(
ReplyDeleteSo cute! I love getting and sending any kind of mail! My boy is sending me a "surprise" package, and I'm seriously going crazy waiting for it to get here!
ReplyDeleteI love this! Hand written letters and packages in the mail have such an excitement factor that you just can't get from email. :)

ReplyDeleteI loOove the pink thread on brown paper!
ReplyDeleteAnd I haven't written or gotten hundreds and hundreds of handwritten letters, but I have written and gotten some. And today I miss them! Maybe one day...
p.s. - You are inspiring!
AH I have been sewing craft paper with yellow thread over here! I love it! Yesterday I got my hand on kraft paper notecards & sewed a few lines onto them too. It's a scary day when you realize you can sew just about anything :)
ReplyDeleteHow I wish I got more mail rather then spam email!
ReplyDeleteI remember. I've always wanted a pen-pal just so I can write and receive mail. The pen-pals I got either didn't write back, receive the letter, or stopped writing after awhile. It would be great to start pen-paling again. If I did, I think I will have to sew some brown paper envelopes!

I still send out mail - letters, parcels, the works...getting things in return is a different story but that's not why I still use snail mail :)
