A Note To My 35 Year Old Self

{cira 2010, when Hubs had a spider bite on his head}

Dear Future Me

Do you remember ten years ago when you married that boy who was your very best friend?!
Do you remember all the things you thought were so cute?
The things you never would dream of taking for granted -- like little neck kisses or I love you texts
Do you remember how you would rub his back in church because you know he loves it?
Or the intentional thought you put into building him up with respectful words?
Do you remember how careful you were to speak about him in uplifting ways with your friends?

Most of all do you remember all those little reasons you feel in love with him?!
Not for what he would become
but because of who he was.

Maybe you have babies in that room upstairs
a dog in the backyard
dishes in the kitchen sink
and wet clothes in the washer. . .

But I hope you take time to remember to love that boy in all those ways you did long ago.
I hope you remember that relationships are more important than a clean house.
I hope you remember your Hubs still craves respect and love.
And that he is still and will always be your best boy
in the whole wide world.
