{What I Wore} School Bus Edition

Otherwise known as Friday Files {edition 21}

Here's some real life for ya.

When it's five thirty in the morning and
this is the fourth morning in a row that you've done this
and the weather is
probably-cold-but-quite-possibly-going-to-change-in-two-point-seven-six-seconds
fashion is pretty low on the priority list.

This is literally the conversation I have in my head every morning:

Clothes. . . clothes.
Need bottoms.
Skirt?! Too cold.
Jeans.
Need something without a saggy butt.
What hasn't been worn for 27 straight days?
Aha. I did laundry last night.
There. On the couch. In a wrinkled heap.
Perfect.

Shirts.
Need layers for the biopolar weather.
This white boho top with a gray sweater?
Nope. Black bra. Too lazy to change.
Plus the sweater smells slightly like two weeks old.
Meh. Could last one more day.
Ah. The gray gap comfy shirt.

Layers for warmth.
Seester's Old Navy puffer jacket cira 2000.
Crud. Dirt stains on the pockets.
Like the kids will care.
With their peanut butter and jelly stains on the mouth corners.

Shoes.
Oh boy. Fashion energy running low.
 Boots have scratched toes.
Tired of heels.
Must.go.for.comfort.of.ugly.chinese.shoes.

Dang. Gotta leave in ten minutes.
Deodorant?
Guess I better.
Perfume?
A nice touch.
Brush teeth?
Almost forgot.
Hair?!
Nope.
Make-up?!
NEVER.

And may the Lord have mercy on me when I have babies someday.

Happy Friday to you, Lovelies. . .
whatever you may be wearing!
xo

  12. You look great, Miss 5AMer! I'm sure the kids love you. Most kids don't seem to care about fashion much; they notice a smile more. By the way, have you tried the sock bun? You go to sleep with you hair tied up in a sock and the next day get these sexy waves with no fuss? Yes, it's not too good to be true! There are plenty of tutorials on utube.

  13. P.S. When I worked, I wore scrubs and a ponytail every day. I'm not sure that's any better than what you wear to work, but at least there was zero thought involved! And don't worry, being a mommy does not take away all your style--just some days.

  15. You are probably the best/ nicest and cutest school bus driver ever! When I was in school, all of my school bus drivers were bitter old crotchety men. Mean and scary. I get dressed like this pretty much everyday too... picking at various piles of clothes scattered throughout my room :)
