And 25 years later. . .

{cira 2011}

You know you have the best in-laws in the world when they fly out to visit for just three days and manage to give you the best Sunday afternoon in a long time, jump start that bedroom-with-the-holes-in-the-wall-project with a serious kick in the BE-hind, and make you feel so loved and cared for you have warm fuzzies chasing each other around inside.

Their stories are pretty awesome too.  Like the project that tore up the floors of their gorgeous California home last week.  And how just when they needed it, a friend offered to help with professional skills for no cost at all.  Why?!  Because 25 years ago, my father-in-law helped him in his time of need and now he was just returning the favor.

Kind of got me thinking.  Who will be there to help me out in 25 years?!  Am I paying it forward now?  Reaching out and loving the people in my life today?   Because when it comes down to it, relationships are really all that matter.

Computer is still on the blink. . . woe is me.
If you would like to check in with the daily happenings, watch my tweets here.
You might also watch for random smoke signals coming from this general area of the world. . .
as I may just have to resort to this newold way of communication.

  1. Haha I hope you get your computer sorted soon...smoke signals can be a tricky business!

    It is sweet when folks jump in to help-something we should probably all do more of! -I actually saw a mans bike seat fall off today in the middle of the town, and some random chap stopped- put his shopping down and helped screw the seat back on!! It was good to see!!! :)

  2. This is so nice to 'hear'.
    And I think that people who, after all this time, haven't forgotten to return the favor, are such good people, too!
