Hi everyone! I’m so excited to be part of the Much Love, Me project! A huge thanks to Nicole for setting up another amazing opportunity like this! My name is Julie, and you can find me blogging here!
What to expect when you visit my blog? Yummy recipes, stories and photos, some talk on my journey in faith, and the occasional craft.
I’m an absolutely fun-loving, food-loving, and Christ-loving 18 year old college student. My deepest and most personal story lies with finding my identity in Christ. At the age of 15, I was so lost. I spent my time with the wrong people, and I thought that drinking was “the cool thing”. Why? Well, because everyone else was doing it! Ha-ha. Just kidding. Looking back, I think it was because I wanted to impress people. Having this group of “cool” friends who actually wanted to spend time with me was surprising. I felt lucky– and oh how wrong I was! In the end, none of it felt right or like me – my moral compass was going crazy trying to alert me to this. Sometime after I turned 16, I began to go to church. At the time, I didn’t know why I decided to begin going, but I realize now that this was God’s work within me. At that point, I was molding myself into a new person. I was a believer, but still so far from being truly saved. Fast forward a few months, and I met Matt. He is a precious gift given to me from God. We have been together over a year and a half now, and I am so happy with him. He is my best friend, and I can confide in him about everything. He makes me better, and I believe God knows I need someone like him to do this and keep me in check. He is a patient, kind, loving, true child of God who helped me along my path to becoming saved.
That moral compass I mentioned earlier? It was God calling me to become his daughter, which I ignored several times before actually getting it in my head that I need Christ to save me. Since then, He has transformed my life for the better. Sure, I’ve lost friends because of I’m not like them anymore. It can be hard living a Christian life, with rejection from people coming often. But guess who will never reject me now? That’s right. Jesus, my Lord and savior. Currently, I’m trying to live my life to the fullest, worship Christ, and share adventures and new experiences with my man. I am so happy! We are just crazy about each other, and I hope and pray that he is the one to be permanently written in God’s life plan for me.
