Our anniversary weekend in Chicago was just what Husband and I needed.
We spent three days exploring around the city via the awesome Metra system. We visited the Navy Pier, the Planetarium and a hilarious dinner theater show from the Roaring 20's. We stuffed our bellies with deep-dish pizza, ice cream, hot dogs from a stand, funnel cakes, fruit smoothies, soups and sandwiches. Our bellies were literally screaming at us to stop -- but how can you do that when you are in scumulicous-food-heaven?! I also tried my first macaron this weekend. Party in ma belly, yo!
Husband was a stud with the maps and navigating us around the city and he was literally a hero when we had a major hotel fiasco. He soothed my tears with a Cherry Berry Chiller and then proceeded to book the most glorious bed and breakfast in an old brick building with a spiral staircase. Lucky-wife-alert here!
We ended our weekend right back in our own bed last night. And while cuddling in the dark, we read each other our wedding vows from the glowing computer screen. Thank God I didn't cry on our actual wedding day like I did last night. The commitment and love of marriage is more powerful and special to me now then ever before and I am so incredibly thankful.
