A Simple Bedroom

I honestly believe the things you wait the longest and work the hardest for, are the things you value most in life.  Our bedroom is my very own perfect example.

Do you remember when we first moved into our house a year ago, when our bedroom looked like this?!  As the months went past, we made a pact with ourselves to only pay cash for all home improvements.  Read here: everything takes one million and one years.  So I would do things like this to try and make myself feel better about the ugly walls and scratchy carpet.  And then one day, I innocently tore the ugly, bubbling paneling off the walls and found this.

After seven long and sometimes tearful months, our hard work paid off.  I am so proud of Husband for his long hours spent here.  I am so thankful for our parents who put their time in too.  When we laid the carpet just over a week ago, Husband entertained us with multiple rousing renditions of 'A Whole New World'.   He always has just the right words for the moment.

So without further blutherings and words, I present our brand new favorite place in the house. . .

  5. Great transformation! I would love to have a project house--the end product would be so satisfying.

although husband would laugh at me for saying that: We were house-hunting awhile back and the mister found what he called a "great fixer-upper"... It looked like it'd had been through a war zone and then hurricane Katrina. Apparently I didn't want TOO MUCH of a project house ;)
