A Sister Party

Last Friday was our second annual Sister Valentines Party.  {The first year's is here}

I was much less ambitious with my decorations and menu this time around.  Just a simple white cake with buttercream frosting, cut fruit, heart-shaped biscuits with strawberry rhubarb jam, jello parfaits in some thrifted glass cups and a sparkling fruit punch.  But it happened none the less.

One of my goals in life is to celebrate.

The little moments.
The somewhat insignificant holidays.
The milestones.
The relationships.
The ordinary things that might otherwise be overlooked.

And somehow I hope that God feels worshipped in those moments as He sees His kids celebrating the beautiful life He gave.  That would make the laughter and consumption of sweet treats that much better.

PS.  I also may or may not have squished my huge belly into the same dress I wore last year.  Of course it only lasted the duration of the one and a half hour party and then it was straight back to the comfy clothes.  It's also in these moments that one thanks their lucky stars for lots of pink things to cover up pregnant part that don't want to be covered by zippers and necklines.  Amen and amen.
