Family Meals // Week 1

One of my favorite blogs is My Cakies by the inspiring Rubyellen.  She has four of the cutest little girls; True, Brave, Soul and Glow.  She blogs in a way that is honest and real and I can't help but fall in love with her eclectically lovely home.  Every week she posts a five day menu for the upcoming week nights and I have found it so inspiring I want to start my own on TIMF.  It's so easy for me to get stuck in cooking ruts, so I am hoping this will push me to think outside the box and actually plan.  Secretly Husband will be quite happy with this arrangement I'm sure.

I am already off to an impressively prompt start with my menu for this week.  *cough*  But as my dad always says, Better late than tardy.
Gluten-Free Pizza:  This is a flaxseed based crust.  While it is quite yummy and a much healthier option than a wheat one, we found the flaxseed taste is a bit strong.  Our toppings this week were sauteed onions, zucchini and mushrooms, along with some sharp cheddar cheese and turkey pepperoni.

Week of 7/22 - 7/26
Monday: Gluten-Free Veggie Pizza
Tuesday: Coconut Chicken
Wednesday: Spaghetti Squash with Broiled Shrimp
Thursday: Steak Tacos with Cauliflower Tortilla Shells
Friday: Camping with the youth group

How have you found meal planning to work the best for your family?!  I'd love to hear your ideas.

  1. I have found this wonderful app called Paprika. It helps with meal planning so much. You can save your favorite recipes you find or add your own. Then, you can plan the days AND your grocery list. i have found it extremely helpful and limits the time i spend in the store wondering what to make. I love meal planning, enjoy yourself and have fun! :)

  2. Sounds like a yummy meal plan! I haven't made one in a long time but I need to start doing that again.

  3. This looks so good! I'm trying to cut out grains and gluten products, so I'm adding this to my list for meal inspiration!

  4. Meal planning has helped me tremendously! I started a meal planning binder with the list of ingredients I need for a week's worth of meals. I spent one summer coming up with a bunch of them and now I rotate them in my binder and add to it when I need to!!
