Summer just doesn't seem like a true summer with at least a handful of hot afternoons at the local swimming pool. Ours happens to be extra special to me because my great Uncle Junior and his wife were our town's swim instructors for decades. After they had both passed away, the swimming pool was renamed after them, The Steele Family Aquatic Center, and every time we walk through the gates we pass their picture hanging on the wall. I often wonder how many in our town of 7000, learned to swim because of my Uncle Junior.
Emmett's first time in his great-great-uncle's swimming pool was quite impressive. He didn't even flinch at the cool water or water that got splashed in his face. He was made to be a little tadpole, this one. Now I just need to find someone who can teach him this kind of class and our summer swimming adventures would be complete. . .
