Introducing // The Parcel Post Company

It started as a tiny dream.
It grew with prayers and countless late nights of creating.
And now it waits to arrive in your mailbox.

I am extremely excited to present a brand new monthly subscription club of handmade treasures.
Welcome to The Parcel Post Company.

January 1, 1913.
Post Master General Frank H. Hitchcock inaugurated The Parcel Post Service in the United States of America. Dry goods and other products began to fly back and forth across the country on trucks and rail trains. It became an inexpensive way to get a variety of goods to rural customers College students even sent their dirty laundry home to their mothers, as it was cheaper than doing it themselves. It wasn't until 1914, that little four year old Charlotte May Pierstorff was mailed to her grandparents; after which the mailing of humans was officially banished.

While the daily mail once meant the arrival of handwritten postcards, mail-ordered home goods and even farm fresh eggs; the rise of technology in the 21st century has decreased our daily communication to nothing more than emails, texting and a plethora of social media options. Today our mailboxes boast of little more than monthly bills, credit card applications and a whole host of useless advertisements.

Our goal at The Parcel Post Company is to bring back the magic of mail time through monthly subscriptions to brown paper wrapped parcels filled with handmade items for less than the price of two coffees a week.

We'll see you at the mailbox.

I love getting pretty mail.
Always have.  Always will.

I spent years of my childhood sending long letters, birthday cards and little packages to friends and pen pals all around the country.  Mail time became my favorite time of day.

I want to bring that spark back.
Just like two friends.  From my home to yours.
Nothing fancy.  Nothing big business-like.
Just a box full of handmade treasures, from one friend to another.

This isn't a get-rich-quick scheme for me, rather a simple dream where I hope to capture the coziness of friendship in the form of parcel posts.
Now let's get down to the dets.

// You can find the brand spankity new shop HERE.  All the details about booking your monthly subscription can be found there.  We even offer reduced rates for 6 and 12 month subscriptions.

Finally here is some good stuff I want to close with.

Orders placed before the 20th of each month will be shipped within the first week of the following month.  BUT because I am so excited to get these boxes into your hands, I am expediting the first five subscriptions placed today so you will have them in your mailbox within two weeks.  Any orders beyond will be shipped on the normal schedule which will be the first part of December.

Also, all orders placed for a 3 months subscription or more will receive a $5 discount.  Use the code CELEBRATE5 at the checkout.  This coupon expires October 31.

Lastly.  Thank you thank you thank you for all your encouragement and support these last few weeks.  Being a part of a community that celebrates dreaming, creating and living to the fullest is such an incredible treasure.  You are each a gift in my life and I am more grateful than you will ever know.  One small way to say thanks is with a giveaway for a one month trial subscription to The Parcel Post Company.  Check out all the entry details below.

  4. I love getting mail from bloggers turned real life friends. But my favorite piece of mail was Behr's crib. It was the moment when "I am going to have a baby!" really hit. Plus, the crib was expensive, way over our budget, so a huge surprise from family and friends. Hudson now sleeps in the crib, but Behr still climbs in for snuggles.
