The response to that photo was really touching. Women from all across the country shared their own stories of how they were going through similar withdrawals that Monday morning. It did my heart such good to know that for all the loosers and scumbags and childish man-boys in the world, there really are some real heroes that we call husbands and daddy.
And since I know as women we don't voice it enough... this is a grateful salute to our men.
To our men who love Jesus and chase after Him first. . .
To our men who tell us we look hot -- even with our messy-hair-don't-care and our saggy old sweatpants. . .
To our men who help with crusty dishes and heaping laundry. . .
To our men who cheer us on, support our crazy ideas and tell us to dream a little bit bigger. . .
To our men who keep their eyes and hearts for their wives alone. . .
To our men who take their turn with the poopy diapers and nighttime wake-up calls. . .
To our men who are sadly the brunt of our cultures jokes, no matter how loving and genius you may
be. . .
To our men who patiently listen to our hearts, through all the hormones and tears and drama. . .
To our men who are doing a kick-butt job loving their wives and babies. . .
To our men who faithfully stand beside us day after day, night after night. . .
You are truly modern day heroes and it's pretty darn awesome to have someone like to you to miss so much after a holiday weekend. We hope you never forget how lucky we are to have you in our hearts and life.
