Gorgeous, but complicated, right?!
I have good news, friends! You can easily replicate little paper creations that won't cost you a fortune or look like you picked them up at the dollar store. And all this just in time for Valentines day!! Here's my tips for creating simple, but beautiful Valentines and I promise it won't take you more than 10 minutes.
Happy creating!!

// Supplies //
blank 3x5 cards
envelopes
red paper for hearts
washi tape
scraps of varied red, white or pink fabrics
stamp set and ink pad
various gift tags or colored scraps of paper
paper doilies
bakers twine, string or ribbon
1// Layer washi tape on a blank card and write your message in the blank space
2// Cut several layers of varied fabrics. I used white burlap and red cotton for these.
3// Stamp a simple message 'xo' or 'love' onto a small tag or colored paper and attach to bakers twine or string.
4// Cut red hearts from card stock or construction paper and attach to a small paper doily. I used 'sticky-dos' from Hobby Lobby to created a raised heart but you could simply glue them together.
5// Layer fabrics on top of the card and the doily on top of the fabric. Tie together with bakers twine and attach the mini tag.

Gorgeous! These are so simple, and much more meaningful than the TO: FROM: Valentines you get at the store. Another great post, Nicole!
ReplyDeleteLove these! I am planning to make some valentines for family. One I want to try is a 'thumb body loves you' where you line up your family's thumb prints on a card and decorate them. Can't wait to send them out!
ReplyDeleteYAY! I love these!
ReplyDeleteoh my golly! that is too cute!! send me photos when you complete them!

These are so cute! I wish the little guy I nannied for was a little older (he's almost 2). We can't do crafts like this just yet. We could try but they wouldn't look like this and he'd get bored too quickly and I'd have to do all the work haha.
ReplyDeleteThat's adorable! Wish I were more crafty! I need to start trying to be because I know I would enjoy it!
ReplyDeletethe awesome thing about these is that you literally don't have to have a crafty bone in your body. ;) it's all about the layering. you got this girl!! XO
ReplyDeleteyeah that age is hard! our little emmett is almost two also and he loves painting and coloring but that's about the extent of crafting we are at so far. ;)
