Anti-Aging Face Cream // DIY

I not always been the best at caring for my skin. . . rarely a washing routine or facial creams at night.  Shhhh!! Don't tell the skin care fairies!! haha  As I have been exploring the oils that came with my Young Living Premium Starter Kit, I have realized there are so many included that are wonderful for skin health.
Frankincense is one of the oils that have a lot of anti-aging properties in them.  So I decided to throw together a simple cream that I could put on my face each night.  It's amazing how I can actually feel my skin tightening after I apply this cream.  It's that gentle pull that you experience when doing facials or beauty masks.

I love knowing exactly what I am putting on my skin and the fact that I can pronounce every ingredient in this cream.  Not something I can say about most of the products I've bought from the store in past.  So if you are looking for a simple way to hydrate and care for your face, try this out and let me know what you think.
Anti-Aging Face Cream

5 drops frankincense esssential oil
5 drops lavender essential oil
1 T coconut oil
1 T 100% unrefined shea butter
Soften shea butter and coconut oil in the microwave. Stir in essential oils and mix until smooth.  Store in a glass jar with a lid and apply a small amount to your face each night.  Preferably after warm water face rinse.

Are you wanting to try out this face creme but you don't have a frankincense or lavender essential oils of your own?! Even if you don't purchase essential oils through me, I highly recommend researching the purity of whatever oils you choose.  Not all essential oils are created equal!! If you want to purchase these individual oil or the entire Premium Starter Kit referenced at the beginning of the post, be sure to check out my Essential Oils page where I have step by step instructions for ordering here.

“We are starting our journey with Essential Oils and have done our own research on the purity of oils.  I am confident in using oils in our recipes because we only use Young Living.  They are  beyond organic and never use pesticides, herbicides or any harmful chemicals. Their soil has never been exposed to them as well.  I don’t suggest ever using any other oil for ingestion because I don’t know of their purity. "

  1. I so need to get more intentional with my oils. Right now it's just rubbing plain coconut oil on every night- I did try lavender for a while, but I wasn't as nifty as you with your cute little containers. I just put a drop in my hand, mixed it with the coconut oil in my palm, but I felt like it was too much after a while. I'd like to try frankincense...I keep hearing about it all. the. time. !! Maybe God's trying to tell me I should get some! Haha!

  2. I really need to try some essential oils already! This is awesome!

  3. it's so so nice to have premixed stuff! perfect for my slightly lazy self. ;) XO

  4. seriously girl!! shoot me an email if you ever want to join our team. there are some of the sweetest girls that i've fallen in love with. so much support and community and these oils are a huge blessing to our family!! XO
